General description
The “Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey” (Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education) is the largest private university system in Latin America. It is formed by 4 institutions dedicated to teaching, research and scientific dissemination. The first institution is the Technological Institute of Monterrey (Tecnológico de Monterrey), which comprises 33 campuses distributed throughout Mexico and educates 101,441 students with the support of 8,890 faculty members. In addition, it has 24 offices in Mexico and other Latin American cities. It also has 12 liaison offices in Asia, Canada, the United States and Europe that support the institutional internationalization strategy. The institute includes 41 Strategic Research Groups and four Research Centers. It is a recipient of the Klaus Tschira Human Resources Innovation Award in 2019.
