MERIT fellows welcome reception

In late September 2024, we held a meeting for postdoctoral fellows supported by the MERIT programme. The gathering primarily featured fellows from the first MERIT call, along with a few representatives from the second cohort. A total of 12 Czech and international researchers attended, recruited through the MERIT programme, and are currently affiliated with various research institutions in Central Bohemia, including the Astronomical Institute, the National Institute of Mental Health, ELI Beamlines, HiLASE, the BIOCEV Centre, the Institute of Animal Physiology and Genetics, the Research Institute of Geodesy, Topography and Cartography, and the Institute of Thermomechanics.
The event provided a valuable opportunity for the fellows to introduce themselves, network, and build connections with each other. Also in attendance were their scientific supervisors and a representative from EURAXESS, an organization dedicated to supporting researchers, particularly those from non-EU countries, in their relocation and integration into the Czech research community.
